“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” ~ Pablo Picasso
Steeped in both European and American traditions, my performance training began in Vermont with Bread and Puppet Theatre, and with Pablo Vela; continued with Circle in the Square, The Studio of the Actors Space in New York City; Elizabeth Browning Studios (NYC) and in London UK, training with The Royal National Theatre Studio, Patrick Tucker and The Original Shakespeare Company, and Patsy Rodenburg.
I created Simply Shakespeare and Shakespeare Unplugged as a performance, teaching, and producing vehicle, which offers a unique and straightforward approach to unlocking the power of language-driven text for actors. I have taught or held workshops in theatre and language arts at Elizabeth Browning Studios (NY), Philly Senior Stage (PA), People’s Light and Theatre Company (PA), Rosemont College (PA), New Jersey Academy of Performing Arts (NJ), Royal National Theatre Studio (UK), Princeton Rep’s Shakespeare in the Park (NJ), Philadelphia Young Playwrights (playwriting), as well as directing productions.
