As an interdisciplinary artist, I am intrigued by what we can create with our voices and bodies, curious about new ways to use techniques and performance methodologies, and passionate about the reflection of humanity. Currently, I am privately coaching actors as well as being available for voice-over work.

Theatre is a playground where extraordinarily complicated beings carve out a place for themselves while seeking community with others.
I believe my job is to be the facilitator between a playwright’s words and the actors’ imaginations, a transformer helping actors to hold up humanity’s mirror. I use a toolbox approach consisting of physical, vocal, and theatrical explorations to unlock the power of language and the creation of character. I work primarily with Shakespearean and Modern Text.

“… April is funny, creative, imaginative, and encouraging…April brings a unique and valuable combination of skills to acting that is hard to find in many of today’s educational settings. She has joined the methods of Stanislavsky and Eric Morris to the highly structured approach of the English theatre and created a process that allows actors to work both organically and at the same time with carefully crafted style. Her integrated approach to character development produces believable and fascinating characters onstage and in front of the camera that are unique and specific to the demands of any text.”
~Elizabeth Browning, Acting Coach. Elizabeth Browning Studios, NY
“April has significant strengths as a performer; director; teacher; writer; collaborator; voice-over artist and scholar: … She loves and inspires her students, creates dynamic ensembles…and has a huge imagination.”
